«Arctic Trade and
Transport Company» ("ATTK") is a
scientific research and manufacturing company specializing in
development, design and production of ekranoplans (Wing in Ground
crafs) - advanced high-speed ships of civil application, using
ground effect.
The company was founded in 1992 at a time when
the works on creation of Russian Navy WIG-craft were practically
stopped. Owing to the efforts and investments of the company
founders the infrastructure of industrial complex in Chkalovsk
(former production and test base of Central Hydrofoil Design Bureau)
has been restored in the short time and the leading specialists in
the field WIG-craft building – the closest followers of Russian
designer of high-speed vessels Rostislav Alekseev – have been
involved in the company.
Specialists of "ATTK" JSC
jointly with the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, Central
research institute of A.N. Krylov and Central scientific-research
institute of Navy (CNIIMF JSC) have developed and implemented for
the first time safety norms for WIG-craft, both at the level of
International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the Russian Maritime
Register of Shipping (RMRS).
Ekranoplan «Aquaglide-5» designed by specialists of
"ATTK" has the Safety code of IMO and Certificate of RMRS. Designers of
"ATTK" also developed a family of advanced transport ekranoplans
for various purposes, united under the brand of «Aquaglide».
The Head office is located in Moscow.
Design and production complex of "ATTK"
includes Design Bureau, the Scientific and Technical Council,
Certification department that is located in Nizhniy Novgorod, as
well as the Chkalovsky production complex, Technical Support and
Training center and Testing center, that is located in Nizhniy
Novgorod region near the flow-in place of Trotsa river to the Gorky
reservoir.

Head office
The Head office focuses main management of company. The structure
and functions of the Head office are directed to the strategic
targets of management. In the Head office negotiations are held with
partners and customers of the company. Commercial offers and all the
contract information on products and services of the company are
available at the Directorate of Marketing and Sales. The
collaboration and cooperation in scientific, technical and
industrial fields are considered in the Directorate of target
programs and projects of the company.
Design bureau
More than 50
highly qualified designers are employed in Design bureau. The
development and design process is being performed through
utilization of advanced CAD systems and specialized application
programs such as: SeaHydro, SeaSolution etc. A system of central
planning and project management is installed. A major direction of
the Nizhniy Novgorod department of the company is working on
certification of ekranoplans, which is conducted jointly with the
Russian Maritime Register of Shipping,
Central research institute of Acad. A.N.Krylov and
CNIIMF JSC.

Production complex
Production complex includes building berth and assembly hall,
machining shop, fiberglass production, paint shop, warehouses and
car park, support and service facilities. Production facilities
ensure the annual program of 8-10 ekranoplans. At 2010, it is
planned to complete the reconstruction of the new building of
assembly plant that would enable to extend the production program up
to 16-20 ekranoplans annually.

The testing center consists of a unique test pool more than 300 m
long, wind tunnel and test-benches, which provides tests of
ekranoplan models for the aim of calibration of aero and
hydrodynamic characteristics of designed crafts.
Design and production complex has direct access to the waters of Gorky
reservoir which is a testing range for ekranoplans.
Having the
amphibious qualities ekranoplan «Aquaglide-5» can directly start
moving from the assembly hall and come out to outer water.
